Connecting Google Search: The Power of Google Search Console

One of the top questions I get about ranking higher on Google and other searches is, “How do I choose keywords?” This is a good question. There are many ways to do this, but you want to be strategic. Years ago, I made the mistake of guessing what words people were searching for in order to find the products and services they wanted. Eventually, I came across the Google Search Console.

This is a free tool that does so much for you. Here is how I use it to grow my web traffic and brand.
See what people are searching for to get to your site. This tool requires you to verify that you are the owner of the website. Other tools will give you information on the general search volume for keywords. Google Search Console will help you understand what people are typing in to get to YOUR site. This is valuable because it will give you new ideas on how people interact on Google. It may let you know that people typed in “Houston Dentist” and your site appeared 150 times in Google, and out of those 150 times, it was clicked 20 times. It could show you that more people are typing in “Houston Dentistry” instead of “Houston Dentist.”
See if there are any issues with the indexing of your web pages. Sometimes we may be shocked when traffic slows down. This could easily mean that there are issues with indexing! Check this tool first if you are having issues with traffic.
